Prison Ministry Program

With the installation of Lisa Curley as Deputy Minister for Capricorn Ministry, the Temple’s Prison Correspondence Program is really taking form. For the past couple of years sabbat cards have been mailed to pagan inmates around the country. Lisa hand-makes every one of them and her mailing list has grown to over 150 recipients!

The correspondence course has been re-launched and the first cohort will include 26 students in different facilities around the country. Although things are still evolving, other pagan groups around the country are taking notice and seem to be intrigued by and supportive of our program.

Visits to the state prison in Berlin, NH, continue.  The last visit on August 4th included Temple ministers Christopher Penczak, Lisa Curley, Rick LaPorte, and Mark Bilokur.  All received the NH Department of Corrections training, which will allow those trained to visit the Concord, NH, facility and expand activities.  This arm of the Prison Outreach will need many more volunteers, but is starting to gel.

We’ll try to keep everyone updated on our progress. You can follow our progress on the Temple Prison Ministry’s new Facebook page. If you’re interested in more information, you can email Lisa at [email protected] and the Capricorn lead minister at [email protected].

Many Blessings from the Capricorn Ministry!
