The Temple of Witchcraft offers:
Spirit, Community, Education
in Salem, NH and online.

Co-founded by Christopher Penczak, Steve Kenson, and Adam Sartwell, the Temple of Witchcraft started in 1998 as a system of magickal training and personal development, and eventually developed into a formal tradition of Witchcraft.

Now, as an outgrowth of the work of students, initiates, and graduates of the programs, the Temple of Witchcraft has evolved into an organization based on traditions of modern magick, Witchcraft, and neopaganism.

Healing Case Study Group

The Healing Case Study Group, part of the Temple of Witchcraft’s Virgo Ministry, started in 2011 to give Temple initiates a forum to develop their skills with psychic diagnosis and to practice sending the healing techniques learned in the Mystery School and Seminary. We follow the Lunar cycle, starting a new case each New Moon. Members perform a psychic diagnosis and send healing to the subject. At the Full Moon the information shared by the subject is Read More...

Tracks of Spiritual Exploration

by Christopher Penczak, edited by Tina Whittle I’ve been giving some thought to the different tracks or stages in our spiritual exploration and development. We often think of this process as searching for and finding “it”—whatever “it” is—but after reading two different and completely unrelated posts, my mind in spinning in new directions. One Twitter post by @LiminalEarth was on cryptids as spiritual entities, which led me to ponder how differences in such phenomena are perhaps simply Read More...

The Problem of Sending Love

by Christopher Penczak, edited by Tina Whittle As part of my journey, I got deeply involved with the lightworker paradigm as found in the modern New Age movement. While a crossroads for many esoteric paths—including holistic health, flower essences, yoga, crystals, channeling, and angels—its deeper underpinnings are rooted in Theosophy. One of the hallmarks of the work is the emphasis on light and love as not just virtues but tangible energies sent by the practitioner. They were Read More...

The Pilgrims of the Sun and Stars

by Christopher Penczak The Temple of Witchcraft is not a coven-based tradition, yet we identify as Witches, a concept that mystifies many people. We teach through an academic model, but encourage personal exploration of magickal partnerships, working groups, and covens, but not for teaching, where the social and spiritual roles can get messy and boundaries blurred. A wonderful friend and mentor, Deborah Bourbon, taught me that magick is like music and you start in your bedroom alone Read More...

Leo Volunteer Spotlight: Nikki Valliere

During the month of Leo, we would like to thank Nikki Valliere for her service in the New England Temple of Witchcraft community. In 2016, Nikki joined our wonderful group of musicians and has provided drumming, percussion, and vocals for our sabbats and workshops ever since. Shortly thereafter, she began volunteering for the Cancer Ministry. What began with the creation of crafting projects for the children's sabbats evolved into the longer term work of guiding the next generation Read More...

Magickal Overload

by Christopher Penczak, edited by Tina Whittle Do you think more magick is being done now than in any other time in history? While our modern society can be considered secular, the growth of the population as a whole and the availability of resources—including popular books and now the internet combined with many magickal techniques being reframed as self-help and personal transformation—could result in an increase in magick. Or perhaps I’m low-balling ancient populations steeped in daily Read More...

Choosing You

by Christopher Penczak, edited by Tina Whittle I’m all about the occult wisdom of memes these days. Well, not really. I’m all about an inner fire when I see well-meaning people perpetuate supposedly helpful ideas that are ultimately harmful, at least in the magickal community in which we both operate. The recent meme in question said: “You disrespect yourself every time you say yes when you want to say no. You call it loyalty/love/friendship. Really you are Read More...
