Matooka MoonBear is the Pisces lead minister and an Ordained Minister and High Priestess of the Temple of Witchcraft who has  journeyed an Earth-based spiritual path since the late 1980s, from Native American ways to Pagan.

In 1989, she opened a seasonal metaphysical shop over her garage and named it MorningStar Loft. It was at that time where she reunited with her identity as a witch from her teen years and self-dedicated to the craft.

For over 30 years, Matooka has worked with animals in a spiritual way on many levels. The powerful medicine of the animals taught her how to use their bodies and call on their spirit to create strong medicine that births into drums, rattles, and other Shamanic tools. In this way, their lives and deaths are honored and continue to give to the people.

Matooka’s spiritual experiences include having studied with a Mohawk spiritual person for 4 years learning the ways of the red road. She met Sat Guru Amritanandamayi and was so moved by her presence that she joined a Satsung, while in New Mexico. Matooka’s Feminine Mystery studies include Goddess School with Sisters of the Burning Branch, where she initiated as High Priestess. She is also a graduate of the Priestess Path apprenticeship with Alisa Starkweather.

When the Temple of Witchcraft first opened its doors, Matooka became lead minister of Cancer Ministry, facilitating women’s mystery circles and children’s seasonal celebrations. After she passed the mantle of lead minister, she joined Pisces and became a Deputy Minister, sharing the responsibility of facilitating full moon rituals. She has since accepted the role of lead minister of Pisces.

She is the creator of Hoops of Life Divination a primal hands-on experience that invokes deep wisdom using the animal, mineral, and starry realms while dancing on the wheels of life. Designed to help the seeker to gain insight to personal growth and healing.

Matooka is an accomplished Kriya Massage Therapist and Reiki Master Teacher having cultivated her skills in these and other healing therapies during her studies at DoveStar Institute. She graduated in 2000 and carried this work into the world as her career for 20 years. Matooka also taught massage programs professionally for 9 years. Now retired from massage, she is devoted to her vocation as a witch full-time.
