The Temple of Witchcraft offers:
Spirit, Community, Education
in Salem, NH and online.

Co-founded by Christopher Penczak, Steve Kenson, and Adam Sartwell, the Temple of Witchcraft started in 1998 as a system of magickal training and personal development, and eventually developed into a formal tradition of Witchcraft.

Now, as an outgrowth of the work of students, initiates, and graduates of the programs, the Temple of Witchcraft has evolved into an organization based on traditions of modern magick, Witchcraft, and neopaganism.

A Crafting Litha

Adapt this ritual to suit your situation and ability. We are using the natron, the simple Litha incense, and the magickal wash, made in our previous videos, all viewable online, bringing them together for this work. In this ritual the “work” is three parts: cleansing and reconsecrating our tools, rededicating ourselves to the Craft, and creation of a piece of art to represent the solar god until Lammas. Gather and craft all that you need before the Read More...

Wrong Motivation

by Christopher Penczak, edited by Tina Whittle  “I did start out in witchcraft to get boys, to tell you the truth.” “Think I don't know that?” “What did you start out to get, Esme?” Granny stopped, and looked up at the frosty sky and then down at the ground. “Dunno,” she said at last. “Even, I suppose.” ― Terry Pratchett, A Blink of the Screen: Collected Shorter Fiction We all come to the Craft for different reasons Read More...

Temple Astrolog: We Need to Talk…

There are some serious things going on right now in people's hearts and minds, things that have been brewing for a long time and that need to be talked about. Things buried so deep inside that we might not even realize they are there, until it is time…and now it's time. Mercury (communication, friends, neighbors, siblings) is in the sign of Cancer (family, things close to the heart). Mercury in the sign of Cancer wants to talk Read More...

Our Coven is the World

by Christopher Penczak, edited by Tina Whittle Recently I had a conversation with a friend who is re-evaluating his relationship to the word—and to the identity of—Witch. Actually, I tend to have that conversation a lot with friends, all for different reasons. Some are the old-guard traditionalists who have never quite adjusted to the world created by Raymond Buckland and Scott Cunningham. Others are folkloric intuitive Witches, at the edge of the community and setting up their Read More...

Making Natron

Natron—or soda ash—was used in ancient Egypt for a variety of purposes, both spiritual and practical. These include mouthwash, early soap combined with oil, water-softening, combining with castor oil as a smokeless fuel that wouldn’t damage wall paintings, and to dry out corpses for mummification. Most of its practical applications were replaced with sodium bicarbonate in the modern world. We use natron in the Temple as a powerful cleansing agent. We add it to water to make Read More...

Temple Astrolog: Exiting New Moon and Deep Healing

A new moon happens every month and every moon cycle. It is when the sun and the moon are in the same astrological sign and right next to each other. Because they are next to each other, the sun cannot light up the surface of the moon and therefore we experience that the moon has gone dark. When they are opposite of each other and the sun lights up the whole beautiful side of the moon, we Read More...

TempleFest 2020 Moved Online

From the announcement on the TempleFest site: "When we announced that TempleFest would be held this year as planned, we had the highest hopes that the pandemic would be better controlled and our community would be able to come together safely to celebrate and reconnect. Unfortunately this is not the case. There is no way that we can ensure that everyone coming to TempleFest is 100% Covid-19 free. Even one person in the close quarters that we Read More...

Service of the Mystic and the Mundane

by Christopher Penczak, edited by Tina Whittle Every two years or so, I graduate an advanced class to the level of High Priestess/High Priest in the Temple. We call this class Witchcraft 5, having four levels of magickal, psychic, and personal development and a fifth degree that is certainly rooted in the mysteries, but also draws upon the lessons of service and community. Some leave the program and go onto further study within and/or outside of the Read More...

Psychic Development 104 Class in New York

Now that you have developed your third eye and opened up your seer abilities from all three classes, we will each be given four rites that have been passed down from our great indigenous masters and by our wisdom-keepers. We will become our own personal healers and magicians, healing our past karmic and genetic inheritances by raising our luminescent field of energy. Join Christine Krauss, a high priestess with the Temple of Witchcraft and owner of The Read More...

Temple Astrolog: Ancient Voices and Unrealistic Expectations

The planet Venus (love, romance, magick, artistry) is joined with the asteroid Vesta (dedication) in the sign of Gemini (communication, learning). This is a very interesting combination. People with strong placements of both Venus and Vesta tend to have a strong urge to get to the bottom of things when it comes to finding the original source. It can happen earlier in life, but it is more likely later down the path. I'll give you some examples Read More...
