2019 Numerology: Sunshine and Surprises

The year 2019 vibrates to the number 3 (2+0+1+9=12, 1+2=3) the Empress card in Tarot (the Mother) and the color yellow. Number 3 is fun, fast-moving and has a light vibration most of the time. It is the “easy go” number and it loves the feeling of when things are flowing in harmony. People with number 3 as a life lesson number are easy to talk to and they know a lot of people. You often find them as teachers, hairdressers, dancers, singers, makeup artists, musicians, and stylists to name a few.

Many born under the influence of number 3 also make the longest spiritual journeys during their life. They may start out living a party life where all that matters is having the right clothes and knowing the right people, and end up as ministers or meditation teachers. With the universal year as number 3, we can expect a lot of spiritual and personal development this year. People taking unexpected turns and making sudden changes in their lives.

Energetically the number 3 has a “wake up” energy. First you have the number 1, the “me” number , and then the number 2, the “we” number that creates a kind of balance, and then the number 3 comes along and everything changes. Everyone who is a parent knows what I’m talking about here! It is wonderful to have your first child, but you just can’t imagine the change it brings to your life before it happens. The same thing can be said about number 3. Yes, it has all of that sunshine that comes with yellow: the fun, the laughter, the friends, the party, and the glitter. But it also has the transformative energy that brings you growth pain and the pain of labour. It’s all worth it in the end, but it can be hard to remember when you are in the middle of it. So let’s take a deeper look at the numbers:

The Grail Knight and the Quest

If we look more in detail of the numbers of 2019 we find many interesting things. (20+19 =39, 3+9=12, 1+2=3) Number 39 is the number of the Grail Knight and the quest for higher meaning (the Knight of Cups). People born with this number have a great imagination. As kids they were different, like they lived parts of their lives in their own bubble. Sometimes that made them lonely and outsiders, but in this world of their own they made strong connections to other things and other worlds. By seeing things differently (number 12 and the Hanged Man in Tarot) they have the key to unlock many hidden things and the power to solve many mysteries. As grown ups we see them as great actors, producers, mystics, writers, and artist of all kinds. This year is therefore a great year for anyone living a creative life, or wanting to be more creative in their everyday life. Ultimately, 39 is about finding your true tribe, your kind of people and daring to show your true self.

This year we will be challenged to go out on a limb to reach for the fruit. To hang upside down and find a new perspective. To find love again and to restore hope.

The Golden Boy

If you have added the numbers up and read the beginning of this article you now know that this is the year of number 3. But what about 19? Does it have any significance at all? Well, it has importance and it will influence us, more in a collective and universal way.

The number 19 is the number of the golden boy. It is the Sun card in the Tarot. In Numerology it is the special person or that thing you have been longing for, what you have searched to find for a long time. The power of 19 is wonderful and fantastic. It holds a lot of energy, joy, and celebration. But there is another side to it, and that is the danger of putting our joy, our power, and happiness outside of ourselves. The danger of making someone a saviour and the solution to all of our problems. In terms of politics, religion, and science we have to look out for that this year. Instead of making it all about one person or one solution, we do better to find broader solutions and work together with more people, as this year comes out with the number 3. In terms of work and finances you do best not to put all of your eggs in the same basket.

What We Leave Behind

It is always good to look back before moving on into the future. We are now leaving the year of 2018 behind us. The numerology vibration of 2018 has been 38 (20+18=38, 3+8=11, 1+1=2). A year with the number 11, a master number that has presented us with many challenges, but also with a lot of growth, personally and in our relationships. The number 11 is the light-bearer and is always asking about the truth. What is the truth? And how do I know if someone is lying to me? And what about lying to myself? And then there is the bigger truth about the world and were it is going?

There have been a lot of ups and down, as it always is with the number 11 and the number 2. So it’s no wonder many of us are ready to leave 2018 and step into the next year! But is has not all been bad. The vibration of 38/11/2 is the Tarot card of the Queen of Cups. She is highly intuitive, compassionate, and has the capacity to move between the worlds. If you feel connected to that card in some way, if you are working as a priestess, intuitive, or a counsellor, then this year has probably been somewhat challenging for you. But as time moves on and you look back at this year, you will find that these hard lessons and what you have learned will serve you well in the future. You will not be easily fooled or lied to. You have a deeper sense of who you are and what you want in your relationships.

A Bright Look Into the Future

With this I wish you a fantastic year ahead with lots of joy, creativity, and fun. May you find your tribe, fall in love or fall deeper and find new perspective. May you not be trapped into only believing in one solution, but seeing many. May you be gifted with the answer to a question so many before us have asked in the quest: “Whom does the grail serve?”

Many blessings, and a Happy New Year!

Temple Astrolog: Kiss and make up…or not?

The stars are certainly up for a good party! Despite Sun and Saturn joined in Capricorn (a little boring) Mars and Chrion in Pisces are in a grand trine with Venus and Ceres in Scorpio and the north node in Cancer stirring up some romantic energy.

This creates a good feeling and a tendency to be forgiving and seeing the best in people. With that Venus in Scorpio flirting with Mars in Pisces, ou lala! That old ex-boy or -girlfriend shines a little bit extra and you may feel like calling or texting them, or that handsome person from work. You may very well wake up in the wrong bed next morning wishing that you did not have that extra glass of wine or champagne the night before!

Sometimes it’s good to let go and follow the flow (Venus) and sometimes it’s good to follow reason (Saturn). Perhaps you will feel the pull of both of them this magickal night? Only the gods knows what will happen. Stay safe and follow your heart, and don’t forget to ask your angels for assistance if needed. Both Archangel Michael (protection) and the angels of romance will have quite a busy night.

Happy new year!

Temple Astrolog: Opening the vaults of heaven

If you are searching for answers right now, you can turn your energy towards the upper worlds and work with Jupiter and Mercury, joined together in the sign of Sagittarius. This has the power to open the vaults of heaven. This is a wonderful aspect for anyone involved in writing, research, and teaching. Bright ideas may come from this, so don’t forget to write them down as you may not remember them later.

This also brings a happy energy to the Christmas and Yule celebrations. It can be easy to get carried away by this positive energy that brings a brighter outlook on life, but If you are signing any contracts during this transit please be careful and make sure that you read the fine print and details.

This transit is until 27-28th of December.

This Christmas there are some other things that may be good to know. The Asteroid Vesta (the inner flame, priest/priestess) is together with Lillith Black Moon (what we cannot see) in Aquarius (community). This can create a feeling of being an outsider, even with your closest family, partners, and friends. Don’t pay too much attention to this right now, observe and let it pass. You do not have the complete picture right now and cannot trust what you feel.

We also have Mars together with Chiron in Pisces, this can trigger hidden anger and frustration as they make a square to the sun in Capricorn. If you decide to act and confront someone, make sure it has to do with this person and that it is not something from the collective field causing turbulence and stress. Please remember that children and pets cannot choose their environment like adults can, so it is our job to keep them safe.

To create a warm and welcoming Christmas and Yule we do best to tune in to the generous and benevolent Jupiter, mentioned above.

Blessings and, as we say in Sweden, God Jul!

Temple Astrolog: The eyes of the oracle

The asteroid Ceres (the great mother) is together with Venus in the sign of Scorpio. This is excellent for anyone interested in scrying, oracle-reading, and divining the future. You might need to be a bit careful though, as Scorpio is the ruler of the underworld and you can get in deeper than you planned. This is amplified by a trigon to Neptune in Pisces opening up to new worlds and dimensions with ease, but not so clear on boundaries and closing the gates afterwards. But by using extra protection and working “by the book” you should be fine. If you are extra-sensitive or have sensitive children now is the time to recharge your talismans for protection and safety from unwanted attention or energies. This transit is until 8th of January and is extra strong the 25th and 26th of December. Perfect for Yule scrying and oracle reading!

Temple Astrolog: Get that thing moving

Mars, the planet of movement and energy, has been in the sign of Pisces since mid-November, and he is not happy there. He is also joined by Neptune and that brings even more water to his fire. This makes it hard to feel energized and enthusiastic. It is easy to blame others for delays and stagnation and that is something that should be avoided.

But now there is help coming in as the sun makes a square to fiery Sagittarius. Hooray! So get things moving right away. Sign up at the gym, and start that project that you have been thinking about. Focus your energy and move ahead. Luckily this aspect is holding on until midwinter when the sun moves in to Capricorn and soon after that on January 2nd, Mars moves ahead into Aires, his home sign and he can start to breath fire again.

Temple Astrolog: Moving in a new direction

The nodes of the moon have moved into new signs (November 16th) and are creating a wave of change and transformation in our lives. For some people it can feel like a great relief that finally things are moving, and for others it can create a lot of tension.

The north node, also called the dragon’s head, shows us a place of focus for moving ahead and fulfilling our destiny. The north node has moved into the sign of Cancer and that puts things like relationships, nurturing, parenting, healing, home and family, goddess work, magick, and all things related to the moon into focus. We need to work with that energy in harmony to move forward. It will become apparent what is draining your energy and what is nurturing you. My suggestion is to work with the things that build you up and make you happy.

On the opposite side, the south node, also called the dragon’s tail, shows us where we came from and what could be a drawback right now. The south node is in Capricorn, ruled by Saturn and that old guy doesn’t like change. It asks us what old things and belief systems are we holding on to? Doing something just because it has always been done that way is not working anymore.

The south node is called a karma point and Saturn ruling Capricorn is called the Lord of Karma, so we have a double karma thing going on. If you feel stuck, doing things like regression therapy can be really helpful. On the bright side, we can all get some help right now removing old blocks and karma.

If done right after this transit we will have created a better balance between work and family, rights and obligations, within and without and learned to live in a more balanced way in our relationships.

The last time the nodes were in this position was from April 2000 until October 2001. So it is wise to go back in time and check out what you did then. What changes did you make? What happened in your relationships? Did you move in a new direction? All of this will be clues about what to expect in this period. This transit started November 16, 2018, and will last until May 2020.

Temple Astrolog: A golden arrow

On November 26th, the Sun meets with Jupiter in Sagittarius, and you have the opportunity to shoot a golden arrow of luck, happiness, fulfillment, and joy straight into the future! To help with this we also have Mercury close by. But Mercury, also known, as Hermes can sometimes be a trickster. So make sure that you ask for what you really want and that you understand what you are asking for. Even Mars and Aries are involved, making a square from the sign of Pisces. This can give fuel for our arrow, but it can also make us wonder if we really deserve the good things in life? But if you can pull your energy together, focus on the good things, and fill your heart with it, you can make a wonderful ceremony or meditation and shoot that wonderful light into the future. This window is open from around the 23rd of November until around 29th of November and it peaks on the 26th and the 27th.

Blessings and best of luck!

Temple Astrolog: Should I stay or should I go?

Relationships are in focus now with Venus in Libra in opposition with Uranus in Aries, and this has been going on for a while now. Venus wants to be civilized, especially in Libra. But Uranus in Aries wants revolution and freedom. To complicate things further, the asteroid Ceres (the great mother) is joining Venus right now. She asks, how will you nurture yourself on your own? How will you survive? So we are torn between the longing for freedom and the need for security. But the truth is that we can nurture ourselves. We can function on our own, and we don’t have to start a war or a revolution to prove it.

For people loving green things and working with plants, herbs, and healing this is a very interesting period when you can find new combinations of plants and healing remedies. Uranus challenges Venus and Ceres the Earth Mother. So a little heads up here, the new remedies are probably coming from the frustration of not finding what you needed in the first place, with medicines not working as usual. So don’t give up! Go in deeper and you might find some golden new inventions. And as always, don’t forget to write the recipes down!

The opposition between Venus and Uranus is until the beginning of December.

Blessings!

Temple Astrolog: A different kind of healing

In October, Chiron (the wounded healer) went back from the sign of Aries, back into Pisces. This allowed us to go back again and look once more at healing on the collective plane and the connection to what’s happening on the personal plane. What if the frustration playing out in my community is connected to the anger I feel inside, and if so, then what can I do about it? To our aid, we now have the wonderful asteroid Pallas Athene. She is famous for finding new solutions and having great ideas. Now she is in Libra and in opposition to Chiron, ready to assist. Perhaps forging new alliances and building new paths? This configuration will be until the 25th of November, when Pallas Athena moves ahead. So this is a great opportunity to work with a different approach to healing and also find new healing methods.

Blessings!

Light Bearers of the Temple of Witchcraft

At TempleFest 2018, I initiated a project long held in my mind, and inspired by our Florida priest Michael Usher when he spoke to me about believing that “the Temple has many hearts.” I agreed and, to me, the heart here in the Motherhouse of Grandview Manor in Salem, NH is the hearth flame, but it is just one of many hearths. As we enter into the dark season, a time of harvest and ending, reflection and new beginnings, I think back to Templefest.

The founders of the Temple maintain a hearth flame here in Salem, NH, almost always continuously having a flame burning for the guidance, healing, protection, and blessing of our members and our community. Some teachers, myself included, give initiates at the first degree—of fire—a candle lit from the flame to use as they will. For some it becomes the main altar flame, passing from one candle to the next. For others simply a token of appreciation and a memento. For those maintaining the flame here, it is both a joyful blessing and at times, a burden, as it also can embody all the responsibilities, terrestrially and spiritually, assumed in community.

So at TempleFest, I asked for help in sharing that joy and burden, that responsibility, with twelve initiates in a small ceremony, to carry the flame back to their homes, and light the candles during their assigned zodiac sign when the Moon occupies it, and more diligently for the month when the Sun occupies it. They have been fulfilling this request beautifully ever since, sharing and supporting one another. It is my vision that they will continue to do so and, when the term of the year is up, twelve more will be added to this council of Light Bearers of the Temple, but the original twelve will continue on as they see fit, carrying the line of the blessing and tending to the many hearts of the Temple of Witchcraft.

That TempleFest was filled with many other joys of community, from our Sabbat of the Three Stars and our amazing keynote and guest speakers, and all our local teachers and vendors. TempleFest, though diligent planning, offered a $3,500 donation to the Barn Community Center Building Fund, and another $1,500 donation to our Scholarship Program. Brad, the Temple’s large crystal skull, made his public debut outside of the Congress of the Bones ritual we hold annually and was a big hit. One of my favorite parts of TempleFest this year was the Lammas ritual, where twelve members removed the stones from the field of community, by the power of the twelve zodiac ministries. The stones embodied Anger (Aries), Poverty (Taurus), Gossip (Gemini), Fear (Cancer), Selfishness (Leo), Illness (Virgo), Falsehood (Libra), Corruption (Scorpio), Hopelessness (Sagittarius), Blame (Capricorn), Miscommunication (Aquarius), and Delusion (Pisces).

So with these many acts of magick in community, after the ninth TempleFest, and after ten years of officially serving as President of the Board of Directors, several years more in preparation to form the Temple, and that first Inner Temple class all the way back in 1997, I am stepping down as President of the Board. While I shall still serve as voting advisor, I know the board is in excellent hands with Alix Wright as President, Adam Sartwell as Vice President, Steve Kenson as Secretary, and Jocelyn Van Bokkelen as Treasurer, with Aries Leader Minister Michael Cantone and Scorpio Lead Minister Elsa Elliott newly elected to serve as advisors as well.

This move will allow me to further develop the vision of the Temple and focus on magickal work, after many years of establishing the structure. With our Ministerial Church and Mystery School firmly established, rooted in the Red Ray of Will and Power, and in the act of Witchcraft as a religion, we are guided by our council of twelve ministers presiding over the zodiac ministries, as well as the legal structures to help maintain the administration of the Temple body. There is still work here to be done in expanding our ministerial education for the care and aid of the people, and the ministers who do this work, and I will be working with Libra ministry to help develop these teachings.

Next I will be working on the “advanced” teachings of Three Rays as part of the Society of the Temple, rooted in the Yellow Ray of Wisdom and Cunning and the role of Witchcraft as an occult science. Exploring working groups in the occult sciences, such as the experimental Pilgrims of the Sun and Stars, a new method of group work exploring the Wheel of the Year, as well as our experimental Dark and Deep Moon teachings, form the foundations of what is to come. This occult exploration of ideas and symbols, and the consciousness behind them, is truly where my heart is, and to step back from administration to such exploration is an exciting and joyful change. I also have the opportunity to work with Llewellyn Publications on the 20-Year Anniversary Editions of the Temple of Witchcraft series of books.

Once the Society is firmly established, I plan on working on the Fellowship of the Temple, rooted in the Blue Ray of Love and Witchcraft as an art, for those seeking support to deepen the culture and expression of our Craft as artists and creators. Our elemental retreat weeks and sacred site travel, as well our our beloved Light Bearers, form the seeds of this third body, to grow over time. Even TempleFest itself forms a bridge between this aspect of our work, as an intensive retreat with the greater body of the Ministerial Church, since it is open to all members and even the general public.

What started as a simple class taught when asked by a group of friends, has evolved from class to system, to tradition, and to community, all fairly organic, seeking to answer the needs of its people. I envision the continual evolution of the Temple to grow to meet the needs of its people and its time. I trust those light bearers and the new board of directors to guide it into the next phase.
