Gateway to the Goddess class

The Temple is pleased to announce that registration is now open for a year-long Gateway to the Goddess class, with thirteen monthly classes, held in Salem, NH, and taught by Temple High Priestess Silver Lyons.

This intensive is open to women-only this year. In this sacred feminine space we will create sisterhood as Priestesses of the Goddess, sharing our radiance with one another and rewriting what it means to stand in union with other women as daughters of the Great Mother.

Visit the class page for additional information and a link to the online application form.

Donate and Receive the Wheel of the Year

As the calendar year is moving towards its end, the Temple would like to offer its thanks for the generous contributions and support of our community and to offer a token of thanks as you plan your charitable giving for the end of the year.

In past years, the Temple has offered different audio file meditations, recorded by Temple Founder Christopher Penczak, in exchange for a donation. We are offering a complete set of eight recordings from 2010–2011 spanning the eight sabbats of the Wheel of the Year for a one-time donation of $80.

If you wish to donate and receive the opportunity to download these audio files, just click here to donate via PayPal (usable with a credit card or your PayPal account). You’ll be taken to a download page after you donate and check-out. All donations are tax-deductable and go to support the Temple of Witchcraft’s Great Work, including our fundraising efforts to create a teaching and community center here in Salem, NH.

Once again, our gratitude to all who help to support the Temple’s work in a myriad of ways: We look forward to the celebrating the return of the Light at the coming Yuletide, and many, many turns of the Wheel to come in Love, Will & Wisdom.

Temple of Witchcraft to Add Sabbat Rituals in Hartford, CT

On December 10, 2016, the Temple of Witchcraft will begin offering Sabbat rituals in Hartford, Connecticut, starting with a celebration of Yule. Lead by High Priests Jameson Ford and Ryan Cucchi, along with Priest and Witchcraft V student Dan Lupacchino, this will be the first of an ongoing series of Sabbats held in the state.

The Connecticut rituals will provide easier access to Sabbats for Temple members and the broader pagan community in southern New England, and will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Hartford. For more information about the upcoming Yule event or to register, click here.

Temple Sabbats are open to the public. Temple members and Mystery School students in the area are encouraged to attend, volunteer, and participate. Please contact Jameson at [email protected] with any questions.

Temple Profile Pages

As the Temple of Witchcraft has grown, spreading roots and branches across the country and around the world, we want our growing community to be able to know who we are—and, in many cases where we are.

Towards that end, we offer our newly organized profile pages, which can be found under the About menu of our site (or by clicking the link in this article). When you investigate, you’ll see the profiles can be sorted using a drop-down menu in the upper right corner. Categories include our various ministries, as well as ministers, deputies, our board of directors, and ordained Temple ministers as well as teachers in our Mystery School. Additionally, the Mystery School Teachers and Ordained Ministers categories offer the opportunity to further sort the profiles by state in the United States, so you can find the Temple ministers and teachers nearest you.

We hope the community will find this resource useful and we’ll continue to add to it as the ranks of the Temple’s ordained ministers and teachers continue to grow.

Barn Fundraiser Prosperity Chant

Temple founder and Virgo lead minister Adam Sartwell has set up a prosperity altar in the Temple barn, chanting and making offerings to Ganesh and Lakshmi for the success and growth of our efforts. He has asked that with this chant any who donate to the Temple’s Barn Renovation Fund will receive blessings in return, so please give what you can to help make our community center a reality!

You can donate easily online via PayPal (or click “Donate” on the “About” menu of our site) and the fundraising site Razoo, where we have an ongoing fundraiser. Just click on the links and follow the instructions!

Blessings of success and prosperity to all, in Love, Will & Wisdom.

Temple Board of Directors Expands

At this October’s (and both spiritual and fiscal year-end) meeting, the Temple of Witchcraft board of directors voted on the recommendations of the Temple’s nominating committee for our two-year board election cycle.

We are pleased to announce that Christopher Penczak, Steve Kenson, Alix Wright, and Jocelyn VanBokkelen will remain in their roles as President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer of the board, respectively.

Board advisor Mary Hurley will move to a non-voting member-at-large position to continue to advise and mentor the board from her new home in the San Francisco Bay Area. Taking up Mary’s role as board advisor and voting member will be founder and lead Virgo Minister Adam Sartwell.

Additionally, the board has decided to exercise its option to expand its voting membership to seven, adding new board members Vanessa SilverMoone Lyons (high priestess and lead Cancer Minister) and Jameson Ford (high priest and deputy Gemini Minister).

As part of the expansion to seven voting members, the board members will align with the seven classical planetary energies of the Sun (Christopher Penczak), Moon (Steve Kenson), Mercury (Alix Wright), Venus (Adam Sartwell), Mars (Jameson Ford), Jupiter (Silver Lyons), and Saturn (Jocelyn VanBokkelen). Profiles of the Temple’s board members can be found on our website.

We welcome our new board members and look forward to convening in the New Year after Samhain, and continuing to serve the Temple, its extraordinary community, and the Great Work.

Round the Cauldron Go: A Monthly Musing on Kitchen Witchery

sunflower2

Every Ritual I attend with the Temple of Witchcraft I am so impressed by the number of people who approach me looking for a way they can help out, ways they can contribute to our community. Even the times I don’t get ten or more people who approach me (as I hide in the kitchen), it never takes more than the suggestion or mention of need for someone to step forward and offer to help. We should be proud of that.

I also know for every single person who speaks up there are one or two who, much like myself, are willing and want to help but might not say anything. So I would like to make a suggestion. An easy way each of us can help out. This suggestion is nothing new. I, and the Cancer Ministry, have posted about it once before. My suggestion would be for each of us to bring our own dinnerware to ritual with us.

If we take a look at the amount of refuse we produce each event you would be astounded. When you are sitting down and eating, sharing time with friends, you might not consider the one plate you are eating off of, or the cup and utensils to be much, but it adds up. On average we fill two large trash bags with waste from just one evening of ritual. If each of us made the commitment to bringing washable and reusable flatware, dinnerware, and drinking vessels, we could seriously reduce the impact we are having on our environment. We would be helping to consume fewer raw materials, producing less waste that goes into landfills, or at the very least the energy it takes to convert these materials when recycling. Not to mention the money and resources the Temple would save that could be used in other areas to best serve the community.

The Temple has made a commitment to being Stewards to the Land, not just the Land where Grandview stands or the beautiful farm that has hosted TempleFest over the past few years. We have made a commitment to being Stewards to the Land as a whole. This commitment is evident in many of the functions our twelve Ministerial bodies perform. The same is true for many of us on an individual level, based on relationships we have developed with the Spirits of Flora, Fauna, and Lapis.

So starting with our next public sabbat, Mabon, we are asking you to join us in our efforts and bring your own set of cutlery, a plate, and drinking vessel, if you can. Help us reduce the impact we are having on the Earth that provides for us. Help us honor our commitments to act as good Stewards to the planet. Help us save a little extra money to better serve our community. As an incentive, we will give each person who brings their own items a free raffle ticket for the Temple’s Raffle that evening. A small token of our appreciation for you making an effort and helping us to champion our cause.

Thank you in advance and see you at Mabon!
