For the last five months, the Temple’s Virgo Ministry has been holding monthly Reiki Shares in Salem, NH. Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that allows the life force energy from Source to flow through a practitioner to offer relaxation and gentle healing energies. During our time together at the Reiki Share, we join in sacred space to share in the healing energies of Reiki, to both give and receive. Not only do we offer each other Reiki, we also send this energy to the Temple’s healing list. Each time we come together; we discuss ways where we can infuse this practice into our daily lives. As healers, it is important for us to slow down and take care of ourselves. In such a fast-paced world, we often stretch ourselves too thin, resulting in feelings of being overworked, overtired, and maybe even ill. Our intention for the Reiki Share is in part, to help others as well as ourselves. This is a great way where we can come together as peers to heal the healer.
For the month of December, we thought that we would cast the circle out to the greater community and share this sacred time and practice together. What we will be holding is a worldwide Reiki-A-Thon. This will take place beginning December 13 th and will run through December 19th from the comfort of your own home when you are able. If you would like to join us during this time, there are a few things that you will need. If you are able, you can print out the Temple’s healing list and the names on the social media posts, the special Reiki-A-Thon sigil, and a glass of water.
We will start each session by sending Reiki to the Temple’s monthly healing list and the names on the social media posts by focusing the Reiki energy on the special sigil created for this event. If you cannot print the list or do not have access to the various social media outlets, that is perfectly fine. As a Reiki practitioner, we know that the Reiki will flow where it needs to go. Trust that and set the intention to send the energies to the lists. When you feel that is complete, please begin to send Reiki to your glass of water. Water is life. Water is healing. Water nourishes us and all living things that we are connected to. This will be used at the end of your session. Once the Reiki is sent to the glass of water, take some time and offer healing to yourself. You do so much in this life. This is also a time for you to slow down and begin to offer yourself the healing you need and deserve. When your self-healing session is complete, take the glass of water in your hands. Feel the energy all around you. It is up to you to either drink it or offer it to the land, completing the Reiki-A-Thon session for the day.
Where the in-person Reiki Shares are for those attuned to Reiki, we thought that we could have those who may not be attuned and our distance members join us in this experience. Anyone can feel free to participate by sending healing energy. The goal is to come together as healers to create a healing energy for the world around us, but also for the world within.
