Temple Astrolog: A Different Kind of Yule and Christmas

2019 has been a very special year with lots of personal and global transformation. As we move towards the ending of this year and the start of 2020 we are going to meet some equally special energies on our way.

The sun has just moved into the sign of Capricorn, a sign of earth, stability, endurance, and duty, to name a few things. The sun is not alone, it is keeping company with Jupiter (expansion), the south node (karma), the asteroid Ceres (nurturing, goddess), and Saturn, ruled by Capricorn and Pluto (lord of the underworld). Quite a company and they will have a great influence over us the upcoming weeks, both on a personal and a global plane.

The sign of Capricorn comes with a lot of respect. It is the third of the earth signs and it rules the 10th astrological house, the house of government, politics, and official business, also what we aim to achieve on a personal level. Capricorn is not really about having fun, but people born in that sign can have a good sense of humour, specially about the “darker” things in life.

Emergency Calls

With this aspects during the holidays it can be hard to relax, specially if you have a demanding job. Things will have a tendency to happen and you may need to respond to more emergency calls than usual. Unfortunately many placements in Capricorn tells us that we may need to be more alert and careful than usual when travelling, going on the road or doing everyday things.

On the other hand, Capricorn ruled by Saturn is the expert on protection, banishing, stability, and safety. With this Capricorn energy so close to us, we can call it in, draw it closer, and ask it to work for us for the highest good of all.

It’s a perfect time for recharging the wards around your house, making protection teas and potions, and all kinds of magickal things related to protection and stability. Around the 27th of December this is extra strong when the sun and Jupiter are joined together in Capricorn. This is also good for work regarding success and achievements.

Manifestation and Grounding

Both Capricorn and Saturn, the ruler of the sign, can assist us in manifestation. They can also help our dreams and ideas come to reality, help them to touch ground and become alive. You can use this energy to shape and form your “creative babies.” Saturn brings many gifts, it is the kind of success that comes from hard work and determination. Not giving up, working and crafting your talents towards success. Once again is around the 27th, a good time for working on your long term goals.

Other People’s Secrets

Mars is in the sign of Scorpio (secrets, sex, transformation) and is making a good aspect (trine) to Lilith Black Moon in Pisces. That means secrets and things hidden may be revealed to you. As always with Lilith Black Moon involved you may need to be careful. Even if you get the information, it does not mean you get the whole picture or the complexity of the situation. So whatever is revealed to you, think carefully before exposing it to others.

This is a very good aspect if you are a detective, investigator, or in other ways searching for the truth. If you are a magickal person and get your hands on some old knowledge or material, take your time and do your research before putting it to practice! If you are “too young and full of life” you may get yourself into serious trouble, and we wouldn’t want that. With that said, it is also good to keep your younger family members under extra close watch.

A Good Day for Rainbows

An annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon covers the Sun’s center, leaving the Sun’s visible outer edges to form a “ring of fire” or annulus around the Moon. This happens on Thursday the 26th or Friday the 27th, depending on where in the world you live.

It is said that a lunar eclipse is a change for the people, and a solar eclipse is a change for the leaders of the world. At the same time we have a new moon (new beginnings) and Jupiter (expansion, higher awareness) conjunct the sun in Capricorn (leadership, government ) and the south node (the past, karma) close by.

No matter what tradition or religion you come from, this is a window of opportunity to help manifest good things for the planet and everybody living on it. Light a candle, have a meditation circle, do a ceremony or just carry that good energy within you heart, send out what you wish for this planet now and in the future.

One of my Shamanic Alven teachers told me that everybody has a special color in their hearts, and that unique and special color is important for the rainbows of enlightenment being created in this time. Or to quote Albus Dumbledore from Harry Potter:

“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.”

Healing Ceremony and Connecting to Earth Light

The opposite sign of Capricorn is Cancer, the first of the water signs. Now, with so many placements in Capricorn, the water energy of Cancer can help us to find balance and keep our hearts open through these tough times of transformation. Capricorn is connected to the earth and crystals. In this ceremony we will work with both water and crystals.

If you want to you can also add a flower essence. I like to use Red Clover, Hyacinth, and Lavender flower essences when working with global healing and group mind. Red Clover calms and helps you not panic when feeling some of the collective fears and anxieties. Lavender assists in digesting the information and healing that you are receiving. Hyacinth helps with group communication and is great when you feel out of touch with your soul “tribe”. The combination is excellent for sensitive awakened children and empaths. You can work with any flower essence that feels right for you.

Center yourself, cleanse yourself, the space, and the things that you will use.
Pour water into a glass or your chalice. Add the flower essence if you use any. Connect to the “Spirit of Water” and the understanding that we are all water babies, spending our first time in life in water in our mother’s womb. Feel how this connects all the people on the planet and how you are part of that connection. When you do this you can hold the chalice at you navel chakra.

Pick a stone or a crystal that represents what you wish for yourself and the planet right now and into the future. Here are some suggestions:

Amethyst – healing and transformation
Rose Quartz – love and healing
Onyx – protection and stability
Blue Lace Agate – peace and understanding
Citrine – joy and knowledge
Garnet – action and wisdom
Green Aventurine – healing of the past and hope for the future
Quartz – can be used for all wishes

Place the stone or crystal in the chalice and think of your wish. Hold the chalice at you heart filling the cup with heart energy and the colors of your heart. Meditate for as long as you want and feel comfortable with.

When ready take a sip of the water, allowing the healing energies into your body.

Raise your chalice to the sky, somewhere between your third eye and crown chakra. See and feel how universal rainbow energies of good prayers enter your chalice. Feel the connection between yourself and other good warriors of the heart. Connect to your “tribe.”

Offer your prayer and healing to others whom might need it and let it flow out around the planet and into the universe.

Now slowly lower your chalice once again to your heart and take another sip of the water. Allow the energies to blend and the healing to take place.

Lower your chalice down to your feet and pour the remaining water onto the ground. (If you are doing this indoors, you can have a large cauldron and pour the water into that, and later when finished onto the ground outside.)

Visualize and feel how the healing energies travels down into the heart of the planet and a giant crystal. See how the crystal becomes activated and starts to glow with earth light. Feel the connection between yourself and the earth light. Allow it to move upwards into your feet, further into your navel or womb and into your heart. Breath for a few minutes and let the light and colors fill your aura.

Give your thanks to the Spirits that have attended and say your farewells. Ground yourself, as needed.
