Description
The Temple’s Cancer Ministry offers the following downloads for parents to celebrate Samhain with their younger children.
Samhain is the last of our harvest celebrations. The last of what ever is left, the final fruits and vegetables for the year are gathered. But this celebration is so much more than just a final harvest to celebrate. This is the time of year we honor and think about all of our ancestors that are no longer with us and we remember them and celebrate their life. Without them we would not be here. We do this by cooking foods that were their favorites, telling stories about them and setting a place for them at the table so they might join us in spirit for a beautiful meal.
The veil between the world is thinest this time of year and it’s a time we can feel the spirits around us closely. It’s the time of year we think about and honor death. It is, after all just as natural as life itself. This is also the pagan new year and lets not forget Halloween. So be creative and fun with your celebration. The ancestors will be with you having just as much fun as you are. So dress up, go crazy decorating and make magical memories with your family.
This download consists of a 4-page ritual outline, 2-page instructions for making clothespin bats (with a cut-out template), and a 2-page pumpkin bread recipe for the celebration. All proceeds support the Temple of Witchcraft’s ongoing work.
