Description
The Temple’s Cancer Ministry offers downloads for parents to celebrate the sabbats of the Wheel of the Year with their children.
Lammas, also called Lughnassadh, celebrates the first harvest of the year. It’s at this time we harvest grains such as wheat, barley, and corn. Grains are important food sources for us. Many grains are dried after harvest, which allows us to use them throughout the year. Flour comes from dried grains that are ground into powder. Oatmeal is made from dried oats. Fresh corn on the cob is a delightful treat, but we can dry corn kernels to make cornmeal, popcorn, or polenta.
This season is the perfect time to give thanks to the land for the food it has provided us. You can celebrate by baking cakes and breads, and feasting with family and friends. Making corn dollies from the leftover corn husks or wheat shafts is a common Lammas craft. Corn dollies make great home protection charms.
This download consists of a 5-page ritual outline, 2-page guide to making “hopping corn” as a fun at-home experiment, 1-page recipe for chocolate overnight oats, and 4 coloring and activity pages on the Celtic god Lugh. All proceeds support the Temple of Witchcraft’s ongoing work.
