The Temple of Witchcraft offers:
Spirit, Community, Education
in Salem, NH and online.

Co-founded by Christopher Penczak, Steve Kenson, and Adam Sartwell, the Temple of Witchcraft started in 1998 as a system of magickal training and personal development, and eventually developed into a formal tradition of Witchcraft.

Now, as an outgrowth of the work of students, initiates, and graduates of the programs, the Temple of Witchcraft has evolved into an organization based on traditions of modern magick, Witchcraft, and neopaganism.

Temple Astrolog: A December to remember!

written by Karin Ugander This will most certainly be a December to remember. Not just only because of the pandemic and the fact that we will celebrate the holidays differently, but also because of the special astrological events taking place. A river of energy is about to sweep all over us. The December events will culminate at Midwinter on the 21st of December, when Jupiter and Saturn will conjunct and join each other like one big star Read More...

The Stages of Witchcraft

By Christopher Penczak, edited by Tina Whittle  Occultism usually marks development and evolution in a series of stages. Witches and Magicians have degrees of initiation with modern practitioners drawing much of their systems from Freemasons. We have the Descent of the Underworld, the Tree of Life, the Hero’s Journey, astrological cycles, and the stages of alchemy. They occur in both formal initiation rituals and the stuff of life, the one true initiation ever challenging us to go Read More...

Today it is not only a Full moon, but a lunar eclipse as well. It is said that a sun eclipse is a change for the leaders and a moon eclipse is a change for the people. This full moon is in the sign of Gemini, the first air sign and our master communicator. Just like people are more or less influenced by when the moon is full, they can feel the energy more or less from Read More...

The Witch’s Honor, Respect and Loyalty

by Christopher Penczak Among Old World Witches, we talk about Witch’s Honor. I had an occultist friend who said the Witch’s Honor gesture from the popular television show Bewitched was a real thing, at least among the California lines of Craft, before the TV show hit the airwaves. Endora would look you in the eye, then place the index finger of her right hand beneath her right eye and middle finger beneath her left to indicate the Read More...

Sagittarius Volunteer Spotlight: Naphana

The Sagittarius Ministry Spotlight this month goes to Naphana. Naphana is a third degree initiate who is continuing onward to the fourth in the coming year. Though unorthodox for the Sagittarius Ministry, which usually focuses upon education, Naphana has earned this spotlight due to her tireless efforts in the Temple gardens in Salem, New Hampshire, over the last year, as a volunteer working primarily in the poison garden, but really wherever she has been needed. Her work Read More...

Temple Astrolog: “All is fair in love and war”

“All is fair in love and war”. We have heard this famous quote from Fancis Edward Smedley many times. And right now the planet Venus gives us a reason to think about this a little deeper. Is all really fair in love and war? If there is something that I really want and desire, does it belong more to me than others then? I know that some would argue the other way around. That if something or Read More...

Healing Temple Meditation Series

by Christopher Penczak This is a series of workings focused primarily upon personal healing and the inward journey to wholeness. I wrote it in response to what I have both personally experienced and what others have expressed to me about their experiences in last four years. In the end, I realize our collective experience was the revelation of greater societal sickness, but on a personal level for many of us, this time is akin to being traumatized Read More...

Who Guards the Gate?

by Christopher Penczak, edited by Tina Whittle “The Ways of the Underworld Are Perfect. They must not be questioned.” These are the words of the guardians of the seven gates to the underworld in the Descent of Inanna, and they are quoted in one of the Temple of Witchcraft’s initiation rituals. While I might not question the perfection of the archonic guardians of the deep places and spaces, I do question people, and I get questioned myself Read More...
