Samhain Psychic Fair & Ritual – October 25th

The time of the third harvest has come and with it time for the Temple of Witchcraft’s annual Samhain Psychic Fair & RitualSaturday, October 25th, in Derry, NH.

The Psychic Fair

Our Psychic Fair and Marketplace is a day-long event, featuring psychic readers (using a variety of techniques and modalities) and local artisans and vendors, including our own Temple Store. It is held at the Upper Village Hall, 52 East Derry Road, in Derry, NH and is open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25th. Admission to the Fair is free to all, although donations are gratefully accepted.

Come and visit, shop, take in a reading, and enjoy a wonderful Fall afternoon in New Hampshire! If you have never attended a Temple event before, this is a wonderful opportunity to meet and get to know some of our ministers and members of our community.

The Temple Store is pleased to announce that it will be offering the brand-new Laurie Cabot’s Book of Spells & Enchantments from Copper Cauldron Publishing for sale. Don’t miss out on one of the first chances to purchase the first new book from “The Official Witch of Salem” in more than fifteen years!

Samhain Ritual

In the evening after our Psychic Fair closes, join the Temple of Witchcraft for the celebration of Samhain, the Third Harvest and the Festival of the Ancestors. As the Veil thins, we make the journey between the worlds to discover our core, our true self. We can more easily commune with the ancestors and receive their wisdom. An ancestor altar will honor those who have passed before us. Come in all your ritual finery, bring a potluck item to share in community feasting, and celebrate the turning of the wheel with the Temple!

The ritual is also held at the Upper Village Hall, 52 East Derry Road, in Derry, NH, and is from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. We ask for a $15 to $25 sliding scale donation to help cover our expenses and pre-registration is strongly encouraged, as space (even at the Hall) is limited, and this is our biggest event of the year! You can register online to attend the evening, or at the door. If you have questions about registration, please email [email protected].

Our ritual is open to all faiths and traditions interested in celebrating the mystery of the seasons in Perfect Love and Trust.

Ritual Potluck

We have the opportunity to share the bounty of the harvest together as a community with our after-sabbat potluck feast! Please consider bringing an item to share, based on the first letter of your last name:
  • A–E: A sweet or savory dessert: cookies, cake, pie, fresh or dried fruit, chocolate (good for grounding!), etc.
  • F–J: Beverages (non-alcoholic, please): tea, cider, fruit juice, lemonade, etc.
  • K–O: A grain item such as bread or crackers, possibly with an accompaniment like cheese or hummus, if you wish.
  • P–S: A side dish, perhaps a salad of vegetables or fruits (or both!). Try to keep salads vegetarian (no meat) or vegan (no animal products, including milk or cheese).
  • T–Z: A main dish which could include a protein (either meat or vegetarian).

Provide enough for 8–10 servings. If everyone contributes, then there is plenty to share! If you can, please label your food item so we know what it is and if it is vegetarian or vegan (if not labeled, we will assume it is neither). Our Mother Ministry provides all the necessary eating utensils, cups, napkins, and so forth. If you have questions about what to bring, please email [email protected].

Samhain Coat Drive

Join the Temple as we share the warmth on Samhain: The colder months are upon us, and in New England we know just how cold that can be! The Temple will be collecting new and gently used (clean) winter coats for a local shelter. Now’s the time to go through your closets and storage! Please consider all ages and sizes when donating a coat, from infant to adult. If you have questions, please email [email protected].
